The Collingwood Elvis Festival was
once again recognized as one of the
top 50 events in the province of
Ontario, along with such prestigious
events as the Canadian Tulip and
Niagara Icewine Festivals. The Top
50 Ontario Festivals represent
excellence for the province’s
festivals and community events
industry, and are selected each year
through a nomination process that
includes a pre-determined set of
criteria.
There are more than three
thousand annual festivals and
community events staged each year in
Ontario, ranging from one-day street
fairs to internationally renowned,
multi-day celebrations. Festival &
Events Ontario takes great pride in
honouring these top-notch festivals,
and will feature them in the 2005
Festival & Events Ontario Guide,
produced in partnership with the
Ontario Tourism Marketing
Partnership Corporation (OTMPC). The
print version of the guide has a
readership of more than 750,000 and
was the number one downloaded
publication on the OTMPC website in
2004.
Festivals & Events Ontario is the
professional association for the
festival and events industry in
Ontario, providing a network for
festival and event organizers to
share information and resources. The
association is involved with
advocacy, policy development and
providing educational opportunities
for members.
The organizing committee of the
Collingwood Elvis Festival is
pleased to have been recognized once
again as one of the province’s top
50 events. Chair Peter Dunbar says
“the award is reflective of the
committee’s continuing dedication to
produce a world class event, that
celebrates the impact of Elvis
Presley® and his music.”
